How it works

From first call to a plan you can follow.

Start with a free phone conversation. If a clinical visit is useful, we explain the appointment, price, and purpose before you book.

Consultation and assessment fees are explained before booking.

The path at a glance

Four decisions, made with you

  1. First conversation

Tell us what you have noticed, and we decide the useful first appointment together. This phone conversation is free.

  2. Clinical visit, if useful

A consultation is ₹1,000. A detailed evaluation is separate, typically ₹2,500–₹4,000+; we explain its price before booking.

  3. Plan that fits

If therapy is recommended, we agree goals, frequency, fees and home practice together.

  4. Review and adjust

We review progress with you about every four months and change the plan when needed.

  1. 01

You call or write to us

No referral or diagnosis is needed. Tell us what you are seeing.

    More detail

You call or write to us

Someone on the team talks with you during working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:30 pm at both centres. Saturday hours differ by centre: 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Kalyan Nagar, and 9:00 am to 6:30 pm at Dr. Shivarama Karanth Nagar. You don’t need the right words or a referral. Tell us about your child the way you’d tell a friend. “He isn’t talking yet.” “She’s not like the other children in class.” That’s enough.

If you have reports already, from a paediatrician, a school, or another therapist, keep them handy. They help us see the whole picture. Prefer to write? WhatsApp or email us on +91 70225 30530 / contact@cstbangalore.com. We read messages during working hours, and we’ll come back with questions rather than a sales pitch.

  2. 02

We decide the right first appointment on the call

Together we decide whether a consultation or a fuller assessment fits, then agree a time.

We decide the right first appointment on the call

On the call, the team listens to what you describe and decides the useful first appointment with you: a consultation, or a fuller assessment if the picture calls for it. We explain what each can tell you, and its price, before a time is agreed. You don’t need a referral or a diagnosis to get this far. The first conversation is free, and it commits you to nothing.

  3. 03

The appointment: a consultation or a fuller assessment

What the appointment involves, and what a consultation or fuller assessment can tell you.

    More detail

The appointment: a consultation or a fuller assessment

Some questions can be answered in a consultation (₹1,000), a focused conversation with a clinician about your child and what you’re seeing. When a fuller picture is needed, the therapist recommends a detailed evaluation, a different service at a different price: typically ₹2,500–₹4,000+. We always explain what an assessment can and cannot tell you before you book it.

This is a clinical decision, made with you. It isn’t a gate, and it isn’t an upsell. It’s the difference between a plan and a hope.

  4. 04

    We agree the plan

Goals in plain language, the therapist your child will see, and what you can try at home.

    More detail

    We agree the plan

If therapy is right for your child, we put the plan in plain language before the first session: what we’re working toward, which therapist your child will see, and what you can do between sessions. Every plan is different, because every child is. Our work is custom made, child to child.

  5. 05

    We agree the schedule

We agree session frequency, days, and fees together before anything begins.

    More detail

    We agree the schedule

Session frequency is set by the therapist and you together, not by a template. We agree the days and times that work for your family, and the fee for each session is confirmed before anything begins. Mornings are usually easier to book, and the after-school block is the busiest.

  6. 06

    The therapy cycle begins

Sessions run in a four-month cycle, with goals and home practice agreed first.

    More detail

    The therapy cycle begins

Sessions sit inside our one shift (Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:30 pm; Saturday hours differ by centre), with the after-school block the busiest. Mornings are quieter, and usually easier to book.

  7. 07

    Progress reviews, every four months

About every four months, we review progress and send the written report for the cycle.

    More detail

    Progress reviews, every four months

We work in four-month cycles. About once every four months, we sit down properly: what has changed, what hasn’t, and what’s next. Most children need more than one four-month cycle, and that is normal; each review shows where things stand and decides what the next cycle should focus on. The cycle ends with a formal progress and evaluation report, sent as a soft copy. It is part of the regular service and carries no extra charge. Goals change as your child grows, and that’s why we review them. If something isn’t working, we say so and change the plan, rather than let it drift.

If you need something beyond that cycle report, such as an additional detailed report, a current-status report, or a new evaluation for a doctor or a school, that is a separate service and may carry a fee, explained before it is done. Reports from an assessment run on their own timeline: a short report takes about a week, and a detailed evaluation report about two weeks. Additional and out-of-cycle reports have a minimum 15-day turnaround. We share reports with anyone outside the practice only with your consent.

An illustrative example

How a worry becomes a goal we can review

Not every child follows this path, and no timing is fixed. Here is one way a plan can be written down.

  1. 01Starting point

    What a parent might say

“At snack time, my child pulls my hand or points, but does not use words to ask. They get upset when I do not understand.”

  2. 02Written goal

    What the plan might say

“By the next review, your child will ask for a wanted snack in a few everyday moments, with a little help to begin. They may use a word, a gesture, a picture, or a communication aid, whichever works for them.”

  3. 03Everyday sign

What you might notice at home

Your child gets their message across in their own way, with less frustration and less help over time.

  4. 04About four months later

    Review and adjust

You and the team look at how often your child asked and how much help was needed. The goal is kept, changed, or replaced.

An illustrative example only. It is not a real child’s outcome and not a promise of timing or results.

How long will this take?

Timing depends on your child and goals. We agree what to look for and review the plan about every four months.

More detail

How long will this take?

The time depends on the child, the goal, and the support that fits. Progress often comes in weeks and months rather than days, and it is not always a straight line. Most children need more than one four-month cycle, and that is normal.

We agree what to look for, review the plan about every four months, and tell you plainly where things stand.

Can I sit in on my child’s session?

Usually yes. Families can take part in or observe sessions when it is appropriate; how much depends on your child, your family and your therapist’s advice.

More detail

Can I sit in on my child’s session?

We follow an open-door approach: when it is appropriate, you can sit in, take part, or observe. There is no fixed five- or ten-minute limit. If your child is more settled with you out of the room, you can wait outside for part of the session.

Being there is also how the work travels home. The same response can be tried at meals, at bath time, or on the way to school.

Read about family participation and the open-door approach.

Already further along

Already have a diagnosis or report?

Bring what you have. Existing findings are read before anyone suggests a new assessment.

  • Bring any reports you have: a paediatrician, a school, a hospital, or another therapist.
  • Tell us what has already been tried, and what changed or did not.
  • We go through them with you and say what they do and do not answer.
  • Then we decide together whether a consultation, a specific assessment, or support is the useful next step.

A new assessment, or more than one service, is not automatic. The team suggests only what the current picture needs. If Cornerstone is not the right place, it says so and suggests another direction where possible. Read the FAQ on starting with an existing report.
