Behavioural Therapy
Behavioural Therapy for children
A distinct service at Kalyan Nagar, delivered by Sreelakshmi, Behavioural and Educational Specialist, for behaviour that keeps disrupting home, school, or the day’s routines.
Consultation and assessment fees are explained before booking.
When might behavioural therapy help?
Behavioural Therapy is its own service, separate from Psychology & Behavioural Support. It is functional, child-centred work that focuses on the patterns of behaviour a child is showing: what tends to set them off, what helps, and how the adults around them can respond more consistently. It is not about fixing behaviour.
Plans aim at the home and school moments that matter, and are reviewed about every four months.

What this is
Behavioural Therapy is its own service, separate from Psychology & Behavioural Support. It is delivered by our behavioural therapist (BT) and focuses on the patterns of behaviour a child is showing: what tends to set them off, what helps, and how the adults around them can respond more consistently.
It may run alongside Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or psychology work, and it starts from the same belief: behaviour is a form of communication. The work is functional and child-centred. It is not about fixing behaviour; it is about understanding what a child is communicating, and building the skills and supports that help.
How this differs from Psychology & Behavioural Support
Behavioural Therapy is delivered by our behavioural therapist (BT) and focuses on functional patterns of behaviour. Psychology & Behavioural Support is psychology-led assessment and support, also at Kalyan Nagar.
Where it runs, and who delivers it
Behavioural Therapy runs at Kalyan Nagar, delivered by Sreelakshmi, our Behavioural and Educational Specialist; the team confirms current availability.
What generally happens
- An initial consultation, where the therapist learns about your child and the situations that are hardest.
- An understanding of what may be driving the behaviour, and which patterns to focus on first.
- A plan with goals written in plain language, aimed at the home and school moments that matter.
- Sessions with your child, and coaching for you, so the same response is used in more than one place.
- Reviews about every four months, where goals are kept, changed, or replaced.
Areas it addresses
Understanding behaviour and what contributes to it; emotional and behavioural regulation; functional communication and replacement skills; and support that carries into home, school and community life.
What families can expect
