Is this your child?

You have been wondering about autism.

Whether the thought came from you, school, or a doctor, you can start with a calm conversation and a clearer picture of your child.

Consultation and assessment fees are explained before booking.

What matters now

Autism cannot be confirmed or ruled out from a web page.

What you have noticed is real, and it is worth understanding. These four answers are the practical starting point.

What you may notice
Differences in communication, play, and social connection: how your child shares attention, responds to others, and reacts to change or to the senses.
What a clinician would look at
How your child communicates, plays, relates, responds to the world, and manages everyday life, and describes strengths as well as the support that may help.
The smallest next step
Tell us what you have noticed and who else is involved. A free conversation explains whether Cornerstone can assess the concern and who would take part.
Where it runs
Speech, occupational therapy, and Elements (early intervention) run at both centres. Psychology and behavioural support is at Kalyan Nagar.

Who coordinates a diagnostic assessment

Cornerstone does not give a standalone diagnostic label on its own.

A developmental or behavioural assessment is coordinated alongside a developmental paediatrician, a clinical psychologist, or another appropriate professional. We contribute what we see in your child’s communication, play, regulation, and daily life, and we help you make sense of the combined picture.

Sreelakshmi, our behavioural and educational specialist, contributes behavioural and developmental assessment and support planning.

A web page, and any single appointment, cannot confirm or rule out autism. What we can do is explain the process clearly, tell you who needs to be involved, and stay with you through it.

Three common starting points

You do not need certainty before asking. Start from the place that sounds most like yours.

  • You have noticed a differenceSomething about play, communication, connection, or reactions keeps bringing you back to the same question.
  • Someone else raised itA teacher, relative, or paediatrician mentioned autism and you want a careful professional view.
  • A diagnosis is newYou have the name and now need a practical picture of what support should come next.

What support may include

Support may cover communication, daily skills, sensory needs, behaviour, early development, or learning, depending on your child.

What support may include

Speech and language therapy supports words and other ways of communicating. Occupational therapy works on daily skills and sensory needs. Psychology-led support at Kalyan Nagar can address emotional regulation, behaviour, and assessment.

Elements is currently one-to-one early intervention for children up to around three years old. Learning and educational support is available at Kalyan Nagar once school needs enter the picture.

How approaches are chosen

Clinicians choose tools around your child’s profile and goals; no single programme is presented as the answer.

How approaches are chosen

Clinicians may draw on DIR/Floortime, Hanen More Than Words, SCERTS, or AAC, including picture-based and speech-generating communication. The approach depends on your child’s profile and goals.

We do not push a programme or treat a label as a complete description of your child. Therapy supports communication, regulation, and participation; it does not aim to change who your child is.

Common questions

  • Where do we start after a diagnosis?

Start with your child’s current strengths and the parts of daily life that are hardest. The next step may be one service, several coordinated services, or guidance for home and school.

  • Can you predict school or independence?

No one page or assessment can promise a future. A useful plan builds communication, daily skills, learning, and participation step by step, then reviews what is changing.
